Studies on the effect by supplemental feeding of Eleutherococc in the silkworm

Abstract
In this paper I tried to find the change of the growth rate, the weight of cocoons and the change of urease activity, RNA and DNA contents in the silkworm (Bombyx moril L) by the supplemental feeding of material which were extracted. from OGHAPHI (Eleutherococcus senticosus Maxim) roots by methanol. On the experiment group, E4 which was
treated with 1000 ppm extract, the rate of growth increased to 14.1% and the cocoon¢¥s weight increased 13.0% more than the control groups.
The activity of urease was increased with the increasing of the concentration of extracted materials. On the activity of urease between the 1st day and the 3rd day of the lavae in the 5th instar stage, its difference was decreased gradually with the increasing of the concentration of extract.
The DNA contents was almost same with the change of RNA contents and on the E4 experiment group, the DNA, RNA contents showed the highest point at the ist day and the 3rd day of the cavae in the 5th instar stage.
